What Apollo is and how Kite works with it
Apollo is a B2B sales intelligence and engagement platform: a large database of companies and people with verified contact details, together with a CRM and email outreach sequences. Kite uses Apollo to find the companies and people that match your ideal customer, add verified work emails and phone numbers, and read timely signals such as recent news and open roles. With your own Apollo account connected, Kite also works with the contacts, accounts, and deals in your Apollo CRM and enrolls approved prospects into your outreach sequences. Company and people search runs on Kite's built-in access, so you can start prospecting without connecting anything.
Marketing jobs Kite can do with Apollo
Apollo is a prospecting database, a place to keep contact and deal records, and a sequencer for outreach. Kite works across all three, from finding accounts and people through to sequencing the ones you approve.
Find the companies that fit your market
Kite searches the Apollo database for companies that match the account profile you are after, filtering by headcount, location, revenue, funding, technology, and keyword themes. For any company it pulls the full firmographic record: industry, size, funding history, and technology stack. A campaign starts from a real, sized set of target accounts.
Find the right people at those companies
With the account set defined, Kite searches Apollo for the people worth contacting, filtering by job title, seniority, function, location, and current employer. The list comes back as the actual decision-makers and their roles, and Kite can widen or narrow the titles to match how your buyers are named inside their own companies.
Add verified emails, phone numbers, and profile detail
Kite enriches a person through Apollo to add a verified work email, professional profile, and, when you ask for it, a mobile phone number. It enriches companies the same way, adding firmographics, funding, and technology. Kite matches a person from an email, name, LinkedIn URL, or company domain, so it completes records you already hold as well as ones it finds.
Spot a timely reason to reach out
Kite reads two Apollo signals that show when an account is worth contacting now: recent news about a company, filtered by category and date, and the company's active job postings. A funding round or a hiring push for the team you sell to gives outreach a reason, and Kite folds it into the message it drafts.
Keep your Apollo CRM current
With your Apollo account connected, Kite works with the records already in your CRM. It searches existing contacts and accounts by name, stage, or recent activity, creates or updates contacts and companies, and sets their pipeline stages and labels. It reads and updates opportunities too, so a deal's amount, stage, and close date stay accurate.
Hand approved prospects to your outreach sequences
When a list is approved, Kite enrolls the contacts into an Apollo email sequence. It finds the sequence and the sending email account, adds the selected contacts, and applies the enrollment rules you choose, such as whether to include people already active in another campaign.

How Kite connects to Apollo
Apollo works with Kite in three ways, and you can combine them. Company search, people search, enrichment, news, and job postings are built into Kite and run on Kite's own access, so you can start prospecting without connecting an account. To work with your own Apollo CRM and sequences, connect your account through OAuth, and Kite reads and writes the contacts, accounts, deals, and sequences that account can see. An Apollo API key is the third option: it gives Kite that same database search and enrichment plus your CRM and sequence work on your own account. Point Kite at the account profile you are chasing, and it proposes the filters and enrichment before running anything.

Where Apollo fits in Kite's marketing work
Review and approval
Kite proposes work by default. A team approves it with a reply in the conversation or the Approve button on a proposed plan. Teams that want Kite to act first can turn that on. For Apollo, enrolling people into a sequence is proposed for approval first, so a person sees the audience before anything is sent.
Limits and product-specific details
- Built-in search finds net-new records; your CRM needs a connected account. The built-in route searches the Apollo database for net-new companies and people. Searching and writing to records you already own uses your connected Apollo account.
- Contact detail follows Apollo's coverage. Kite returns the verified email or phone number Apollo holds for a person. When Apollo has none, a second enrichment step such as the Clay or FullEnrich playbooks above can fill the gap.
- Sequences send from your Apollo account. Enrolling contacts into a sequence uses a sending email account in your connected Apollo workspace, so that step needs an account with sequences set up.
Common questions
Does Kite pull net-new prospects, or only from my existing Apollo lists?
Both, depending on how Apollo is connected. Company and people search built into Kite finds net-new organizations and people across the Apollo database. With your own account connected, Kite also searches the contacts and accounts already in your Apollo CRM and can update them.
