Three articles a flooring store near Chicago was missing

Strictly Carpet & Flooring sells and installs carpet, hardwood, laminate and vinyl in Oswego, Illinois. Kite read its website, worked out what its customers ask before they buy, and measured how many people search for each question.

The store's site showed up in Google for 9 searches in all. It wasn't in the top 100 for any of the three questions below, even though about 1,300 people a month around Chicago search for carpet installation cost alone. Each article comes with the opening paragraph Kite wrote from facts on the store's own website.

  1. The article Kite would write

How Much Does Carpet Installation Cost? A Homeowner's Guide

What carpet installation costs depends on the size of the space, the carpet and padding you choose, and whether we need to tear out and haul away what's there now. We don't quote a flat number, because every home is different. At Strictly Carpet & Flooring in Oswego, we bring samples to you and measure for free, so you see real figures. This article covers what shapes your price, what to ask for in an estimate, and how financing and our 5 year installation warranty fit in.

Also answers “cost of carpet installation”, “carpet price with installation” and “carpet floor installation cost”.

  2. The article Kite would write

Is Laminate Flooring Waterproof? What Homeowners Should Know

Is laminate flooring waterproof? Usually not completely. Most laminate resists everyday spills, but standing water, leaks and constant moisture can damage it, and how well it holds up depends on the product and how it's installed. At Strictly Carpet & Flooring in Oswego, we sell and install laminate, vinyl and other floors. This article covers how laminate handles water, where it works well, and when another floor may suit your space better.

Also answers “waterproof laminate flooring” and “water resistant laminate flooring”.

  3. The article Kite would write

How Much Does Hardwood Floor Installation Cost?

How much hardwood floor installation costs depends on the size of your space, whether you choose unfinished or prefinished boards, and whether we need to tear out and haul away existing flooring first. We can't give an honest number without measuring, so we offer free in-home consultations where we bring samples to you. At Strictly Carpet & Flooring in Oswego, IL, we've installed floors for over 25 years. This article covers what shapes the price and how our estimates work.

Also answers “hardwood floors cost to install” and “installed hardwood floors cost”.

How Kite finds the articles you're missing

Kite starts with your website, because that's where you say what you sell and who you sell to. It works out the everyday questions your customers ask before they buy, in the words they would type.

Then it measures each one. It looks up how many people search for it every month, in your own area when you serve one, and checks where your site ranks on Google for it. It keeps the three questions that enough people ask and your site doesn't answer.

For each one, Kite writes a title and an opening paragraph in your business's voice, using only facts from your website, and draws a cover image.

Why this gets you into ChatGPT

AI assistants recommend the businesses that answer the question

When someone asks ChatGPT, Gemini or Perplexity how much a job costs or which option suits them, the assistant searches the web and builds its answer from the pages that explain it best. Google does the same in its results.

If your site has no page that answers the question, the answer comes from somebody else's site, and so does the recommendation. A clear, useful article on each question your customers ask gives assistants and search engines a reason to point to you.

No one can promise a ranking or a mention. Answering the questions people actually search for is the part you control.

After the free check

Once you sign up, Kite writes the three full articles from the saved research, keeping the openings unless it finds something better. It prepares them as drafts for you to review, and publishes them on your site only after you approve. Then it tells you where your site ranks for each search.

Questions people ask

Is the content gap finder free?

Yes. The three articles, their searches and their openings are free, and you don't need an account.

Where do the search numbers come from?

From Google search data supplied by DataForSEO. A local business sees the monthly searches in its own area; everyone else sees United States numbers. Kite never adds near-identical searches together, so each number is for one search.

What does "Not in the top 100" mean?

Your site doesn't appear in the first 100 Google results in the United States for that exact search. Rankings can differ near your own town, and they change over time.

Does this check ChatGPT directly?

No. It measures what people search for on Google and where your site ranks. AI assistants build many of their answers from the same pages, so the questions your site doesn't answer on Google are often the ones it isn't named for in ChatGPT either. To see who ChatGPT recommends today, use Kite's free AI visibility checker.

Are the openings ready to publish?

They're a strong start. Kite writes them only from facts on your website, but you should still read each one. When Kite writes the full article after you sign up, it checks the facts again and you approve the draft before anything is published.

Are the cover images photos of my business?

No. They're drawn by AI to fit each article. Kite can use your own photos instead when it writes the full articles.

Will Kite publish anything without asking me?

No. Kite prepares the articles as drafts and publishes them only after you approve.
