# How to build a contact list from LinkedIn with Wiza

## Key Takeaways

- Wiza gives you three ways to build a contact list from LinkedIn: search for prospects inside Wiza itself, upload a CSV file of LinkedIn profile URLs, or add people one profile at a time from the Wiza side panel while you browse LinkedIn or Sales Navigator.
- Each route finds emails for whoever you select, and every valid email it finds uses a Wiza credit. Deciding who deserves a place on the list is still your job.
- Kite starts from a description of your audience or from LinkedIn profiles you share. It confirms each person's current role, removes customers and competitors, and scores everyone's fit from one to five before it spends a single credit.
- Kite then asks Wiza for the work email of each qualified person, in order of fit, and keeps the validation status Wiza returns with every address.
- You end up with a scored list that includes each person's name, title, company, LinkedIn profile, work email, and the reason they were chosen. Kite can save it to your CRM or a spreadsheet and draft the first outreach.

## How do I build a contact list from LinkedIn with Wiza?

The main way to build a contact list from LinkedIn with Wiza is its own prospect search, Wiza Prospect. Since August 2026, Wiza's Chrome extension no longer lets you select people in bulk from LinkedIn or Sales Navigator search results, because LinkedIn tightened its rules for browser extensions. Instead, you search Wiza's prospect database by job title, seniority, industry, company headcount, and location, tick the people you want, and add them to a list. When you create the list, you pick how much detail you want. The detail options range from profile data alone, through work emails, up to full enrichment with phone numbers. You see the estimated credit cost before you commit. When the list finishes, you can download it as a CSV file or send it to a connected CRM such as HubSpot or Salesforce.

Wiza offers two other routes. If you already have a set of LinkedIn profile URLs, perhaps from an event's speaker page or a colleague's spreadsheet, you can upload them as a CSV file and Wiza enriches each one. You can also add people one at a time while you browse LinkedIn or Sales Navigator: open a person's full profile, click the Wiza icon to open its side panel, and reveal their contact details or add them to a Wiza list.

All three routes are good at finding emails. None of them decides who should be on the list in the first place. A Wiza Prospect search for "Head of Marketing" at 50 to 200 person software companies returns plenty of people who fit, along with people at your current customers, people at your competitors, and people whose profile still lists a job they left. If you add a full page of results to a list, Wiza enriches all of them, and each valid email it finds costs a credit. The finished CSV file also says nothing about why a person is on it, so whoever writes the outreach has to start the research over.

A good contact list is short on waste. Everyone on it fits your ideal customer profile and still holds the role. Each person has a work email with a clear validation status and a reason they were chosen, and the whole list sits wherever your team will use it.

Kite does that work for you. It decides who belongs on the list, uses your Wiza account to find their emails, and delivers the list with its reasoning attached.

## How to get started

Start by telling Kite who you want to reach, in the Kite web app or in Slack. You can describe the audience:

> "Build a list of 50 marketing leaders at B2B software companies in the US with 50 to 200 employees, and get their work emails through Wiza."

Or you can hand Kite the people you've already found on LinkedIn:

> "Here are 80 LinkedIn profiles from the speaker list for SaaStr. Find the ones worth contacting and get their emails through Wiza."

Kite is an AI marketer. It researches your business, builds a growth strategy, and ships the work that brings you new customers. By the time you ask, it already knows your ideal customer profile, your current customers, and your competitors from that research. That means it can propose the titles, seniority, company size, industries, and locations to target without a long brief. Confirm the profile or adjust it, and Kite gets to work.

You'll need to connect your own Wiza account so Kite can use your credits to find emails. If you'd like the finished list in your CRM or a spreadsheet, connect that account too. You can share profile URLs as a pasted list or as a file, including a CSV export from Wiza or a spreadsheet of LinkedIn links.

## How Kite builds a contact list with Wiza

### Who is in the audience?

Kite turns your audience into a set of concrete filters before it looks for anyone. It takes the job titles, seniority levels, industries, company sizes, and locations from your request or from your ideal customer profile, and it adds specific companies when you name them.

Kite then runs those filters through Wiza's prospect search, which reports how many people match along with a sample of their profiles. The count tells Kite whether the audience is the right size before any credits are spent. If a search for VPs of Marketing in one city returns only a handful of people, Kite can suggest widening the titles to Head of Marketing and Director of Marketing. If it returns tens of thousands, Kite can suggest narrowing by company size or industry.

### Where do the people come from?

Kite works from the LinkedIn profiles you share, or it finds the people itself, depending on what you ask for. When you share profile URLs, Kite reads each one and records the person's name, current title, and company.

When you describe an audience instead, Kite finds the people through its own built-in research sources, such as Apollo and Crustdata. You don't need separate accounts for those. Kite searches for companies that match your profile, then for people at those companies by title, function, and seniority. It puts every part of your profile those sources can filter on into the search itself, so it isn't sorting through people who were never a fit. Every person it finds comes with their LinkedIn profile URL and the public source that confirms who they are.

If you've already started a list in Wiza, Kite can look the list up by its ID and tell you whether it's still processing or finished, along with its enrichment level. To work with the contacts on that list, export it from Wiza as a CSV file and share the file with Kite.

### Who is worth adding?

Kite decides who belongs on the list before it asks Wiza for anything, because every email Wiza finds uses a credit. First it confirms that each person still holds the role at that company, using their profile or the company's own pages. Anyone who has moved on is dropped, and recent title changes are noted. Next it removes your existing customers, your competitors, and anyone who has opted out of hearing from you.

Every person who passes gets a fit score from one to five, with a one-line reason, such as "VP of Marketing at a 140-person payroll software company that just opened two demand generation roles." When the list runs past about fifteen people, Kite splits it into primary and secondary groups so you know where to start.

If fewer people qualify than you asked for, Kite tells you how many it found, which filters it used, and why the rest fell short. A short list of people who fit is worth more than a padded one.

### How many Wiza credits will it use?

Kite checks your Wiza credit balance before it starts revealing contacts, so the job doesn't stall halfway. Wiza reports how many email credits, phone credits, and company enrichment credits remain in your account. Kite compares that balance with the number of qualified people and tells you how many reveals it plans to run. You confirm, and Kite starts.

If your credits won't cover the whole list, Kite works through the highest scores first and tells you where it stopped.

### Finding each person's work email

Kite asks Wiza for each qualified person's contact details one at a time, in order of fit, and it gives Wiza the strongest identity it has. That's usually the person's LinkedIn profile URL. When there isn't one, Kite uses the person's full name with their company's domain.

Kite asks only for work email addresses, so it leaves out personal email addresses and phone numbers. That keeps the list to the business details outreach needs, and it keeps your phone credits for when you actually want them. Each reveal returns the person's email along with their job title and company details, and Kite checks those against what it already confirmed.

Kite keeps the validation status Wiza returns with each address exactly as Wiza reports it, so you can tell a safe address from a risky one at a glance. When Wiza finds no email for someone, Kite marks the address as not found and keeps the person on the list, so you can still reach them on LinkedIn.

### Where does the finished list go?

Kite delivers the list in the conversation where you asked, and it also saves it wherever your team will use it. The conversation gets the full table and a summary. You can also ask for a CSV file, or have Kite add the contacts to a connected CRM such as HubSpot or Salesforce, or to a Google Sheet or Airtable base.

When it adds people to a CRM, Kite searches by email address first. That way, a person you already track is updated rather than duplicated.

### What Kite reports back

When the work is done, Kite tells you how many contacts it delivered against how many you asked for, and how many of them have a work email. It lists who it skipped and why, how many credits it used, and how many remain.

From there, Kite can draft a short personalized message for each primary contact. That might be an email Kite sends from your team's Kite address once you approve it, or a LinkedIn message for you to send yourself. If you want the list to keep growing, ask Kite to run the same job every week. It will find new people who match your profile, skip anyone already on the list, and post each batch's summary in the same place.

## What the finished work contains

When Kite finishes, you have a contact list built from people who fit your profile, with a work email for everyone Wiza could find and a record of how each person was chosen.

- **The contacts.** Each row holds the person's name, current title, company, company domain, and LinkedIn profile URL.
- **Work emails.** Each email comes with Wiza's validation status, or "not found" when Wiza had no address for that person.
- **Fit and reasoning.** Each person has a score from one to five, a one-line reason, and the public source that confirms their current role. Larger lists are split into primary and secondary groups.
- **The saved copy.** The list sits in your CRM, a Google Sheet, an Airtable base, or a CSV file, wherever you asked Kite to put it.
- **The summary.** The conversation shows how many people Kite delivered, who it skipped and why, how many have a work email, and how many Wiza credits the job used.

## Common questions

### Do I need a Wiza account for Kite to build a contact list?

No. You only need a Wiza account if you want Kite to use Wiza, because Wiza connects through your own account and your own credits. Kite can also build a contact list without Wiza: its built-in Apollo connection finds professional email addresses for the people it qualifies, and you don't need an Apollo account of your own.

### Does Wiza work with a regular LinkedIn account, or do I need Sales Navigator?

Wiza works with both. Its Chrome extension reveals contact details one person at a time on regular LinkedIn profiles and in Sales Navigator, where you open the person's full profile rather than the preview. For bulk lists, Wiza's own prospect search filters by job title, seniority, industry, headcount, and location, so you don't need Sales Navigator for that either. Kite doesn't need either one, because it finds people from a description of your audience or from the profile URLs you share.

### Can Kite add Wiza contacts to my CRM?

Yes. Connect your CRM, such as HubSpot or Salesforce, and Kite adds the finished contacts there. It searches your CRM by email address first so it updates people you already track instead of creating duplicates. Wiza can also sync a list to some CRMs on its own, which sends whoever you selected, while Kite sends only the people who passed its checks, with their fit score and reason attached.
